COLUMBIA, S.C. –
This weekend is the final weekend to purchase discount admission tickets and ride vouchers for the 150th South Carolina State Fair, which opens next Wednesday, Oct. 9.
Discount admission tickets are $7 ($10 during the fair), and discount ride vouchers are $25 ($30 during the fair and $35 on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays on grounds).
Ride vouchers can be exchanged for a Pay-One-Price wristband, which offers unlimited rides any one day of the fair. Vouchers also may be exchanged for 30 ride coupons any day of the fair.
Discount passes for this year’s 150 Celebration Wheel also are available through Tuesday, Oct. 8 at scstatefair.org. Advance passes for the ride are $5 per pass or $20 for five passes. The 150-foot-high wheel includes 36 temperature-regulated gondolas, carrying up to six people each. During the fair, the ride requires eight ride coupons and will not be included in the fair’s pay-one-price wristband or fast pass promotions.
Admission to the South Carolina State Fair is free for those 5 years-old and younger as well as for active and retired military and their dependents with proper ID. Dependent children 10 years old and older must present ID. Adults 55 years old and older are admitted for $7 every day at the fairgrounds.
The 150th anniversary South Carolina State Fair runs Oct. 9-20 at the fairgrounds on Rosewood Drive and George Rogers Boulevard in Columbia.
