2008 SC STATE FAIR SCHOLARSHIP

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS AND AWARDS

a. Applicant must be a full time resident of South Carolina and a senior in a public or private high school or home school in South Carolina .

b. Applicant must complete application form in its entirety and return it to the South Carolina State Fair office. Application must be received by 4:00pm (EST) on Monday, March 24, 2008.

c. Applicant must attach a current photograph (preferably a senior class photo) and a grade transcript for grades 9 - 11 to the application.

d. Applicant must attend a public or private college or university or technical college in the state of South Carolina .

II. Award:   

a. Applicant will be judged based on need, academic and extra curricular achievement, communication skills, and an aptitude for completion of application.

b. Scholarship will be paid directly to the treasurer's office of the college or university attended.

c. Fifty (50) $2,000 scholarships will be awarded to students across the state to be paid prior to the fall semester of 2008.

d. The selected fifty (50) 2008 recipients will be offered the opportunity to reapply for one of ten (10) $2,500 scholarships to be paid prior to the fall semester of their sophomore year (2009).
