ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP LETTER

The South Carolina State Fair is pleased to offer scholarships for 2008 graduating seniors in both public and private high schools or home schools in South Carolina. Fifty (50) selected seniors will be awarded $2,000 scholarships to be applied toward post high school education or training in a South Carolina university, college, or technical college. This commitment by the State Fair makes a total of $800,000 offered to South Carolina students over the last decade.

Applicants must complete the application in its entirety, enclose a current photograph, grade transcript for grades 9-11, and mail them to the Fair office to be received by 4:00pm (EST) on Monday, March 24, 2008 in order to be eligible. Applicants will be judged on overall performance and involvement, need, communications skills, and an aptitude for completion of application. Recipients will be notified by May 1, 2008.

The selected fifty (50) 2008 recipients will be offered the opportunity to reapply for one of ten (10) $2,500 scholarships to be paid prior to the fall semester of their sophomore year (2009).
