WETHER GOAT SCHOLARSHIP REQUIREMENTS
The SC Farm Bureau Federation will award a $1,000.00 scholarship based on the following criteria:

1.
Open only to South Carolina 4-H and FFA Wether Goat Project participants.
2.
Must be an exhibitor at the South Carolina State Fair Youth Wether Goat Show the year of application and must compete in senior showmanship.
3.
Must be a high school student currently enrolled in grades 10 to 12, or presently enrolled in college; nineteen (19) years of age on January 1 of the current year and under.
4.
Must plan to pursue a four(4)-year degree program, upon graduation from high school. The scholarship will be given upon entry to college.
5.
Must have a minimum of three (3) participants.
6.
Must submit an Official 2008 SC Farm Bureau Federation scholarship entry form to Youth Wether Goat Superintendent by Monday, September 29, 2008.
7.
This scholarship may be awarded one (1) time only. Previous winners are not eligible.
8.

The scholarship will be awarded to the individual with a combined high score in the following areas:

A. 20% -- Showmanship
B. 30% -- Meat goat production and management quiz
C. 20% -- Discussion Question/Essay
D. 30% -- Interview
9.

The Scholarship Contest will be held starting at 11:15 AM on Sunday, October 19, 2008 as follows:

                  11:15 AM - Orientation of Participants

                  11:25 AM - Discussion Question/Essay

                  11:55 AM - Quiz

                  12:15 PM - Interview (will be scheduled per participant)

                   2:00 PM - Showmanship

The scholarship winner will be announced during the 2008 SC State Fair Youth Wether Goat Show.
