Online Entry System - Fees must be charged to a major credit card.

Postal Mailed Entry Forms - Check or Money Order made payable to SC State Fair must accompany entry form.

Checks will not be accepted following the Closing Date. Any fees remaining on day of the show must be paid in cash.

Entry fees are non-refundable.

Entry Registration is required. Exhibitors may register (1) using the Online Entry System, (2) by postal mail on 2008 Official SC State Fair Sheep entry form (or copy) to S.C. State Fair, Entry Department, P.O. Box 393, Columbia SC 29202, or (3) hand deliver to Dowling Building Administrative Office during the Entry Registration Period. Exhibitor, Entry and Pen Fees must accompany all entries.

Each exhibitor is required to purchase one (1) Exhibitor's Pass at $5.00 each. Enclose this amount with entry fee, and this pass, along with additional passes, depending on number of animals exhibited, will be issued by the Superintendent after sheep arrive and entries are checked.

ARRIVAL TO FAIRGROUNDS: Sheep Exhibitors should enter fairgrounds at Gate 1 on Rosewood Drive and park in non-numbered spaces. Sheep must be in place by 5:00 PM on Thursday, October 16, 2008. Release time is 8:00 AM on Saturday, October 18, 2008. Show classes are Polled Dorset, Hampshire, Montedale, Shropshire, Southdown, Suffolk, Wool Breeds and All Other Breeds.

Pen allocation and the number of flocks entered will be at the discretion of the Sheep Show Superintendent.

Pen size is 4' x 6'. Pen allocation will be "first-come, first-serve" based upon receipt of Official Entry Form. All South Carolina entries will have priority.

Group classes must be shown. All sheep in the purebred classes must be registered in the flock books of their respective breeds and bear the American ear tags of their Association. If requested, registration or transfer certificates showing the exhibitor to be the owner must be produced. Exhibitor must have owned all animals shown at least sixty (60) days prior to show date. Any lamb born after January 1, 2008 must have lamb teeth to be eligible to show. No exhibitor may receive more than one premium in a group class.

Exhibitor must furnish feed for own animals. First bedding will be furnished by Fair. Additional bedding can be purchased on grounds. Drenching will not be allowed.

Sheep must have a CVI with a statement of inspection indicating that the sheep are not infected with, exposed to or from a flock or area under quarantine for Scabies, Scrapie, Blue Tongue or any other infectious, contagious or communicable disease.
2. All sheep for show and/or exhibition will be required to be identified to the farm of birth.

The health certificate must contain the following:

Name and address of exhibitor;
Description of the sheep including age, sex, breed and any registration numbers.
Statement by the veterinarian certifying that to the best of his knowledge animals listed on the health certificate are not infected with, or have been recently exposed to, any contagious, infectious or communicable disease;
If the sheep originate from a scabies eradication area, a statement from the veterinarian to the effect that the flock of origin is scabies free, and that the animals listed on the health certificate have been dipped under State or Federal supervision within ten (10) days prior to entry to the Fair;
Health certificates for the exhibition of sheep are valid for sixty (60) days from the date of issue;
