In addition to submission of an official 2008 SC State Fair entry registration form to the Entry Department, all entrants in this contest must submit a printed copy of their cookie recipe to be received by September 12, 2008 to:

The recipe should be typed or printed neatly and list nutritional analysis to show that each cookie serving is less than 30% fat of total calories. The recipe must include ingredients, cooking method, preparation steps, oven temperature and baking time. All qualifying recipes will be considered for promotion by the Columbia Midlands Dietetic Association.
All entries must be prepared in disposable containers.
Only winners will be displayed.
Other entries will be immediately donated to a local soup kitchen.

"NUTRICIOUS COOKIE CONTEST"
SPECIAL RULES AND REGULATIONS
1.

Purpose of this contest is to increase awareness of preparing cookies with less fat.

2.
Fat ingredients refer to items such as shortening, lard, butter, oil, egg yolks, milk, chocolate, and nuts. Cocoa powder is permitted.
3.
Any form of cookie qualifies: drop, refrigerator, or bar cookies.
4.
A minimum of six (6) fresh-baked cookies must be submitted for judging.
5.

Entrants must submit entry into this contest using one of the two following modes:

(1) Online Entry System or

(2) 2008 Official SC State Fair Home & Craft entry registration form postal mailed to be received by 12 Noon on August 31, 2008 to:

Recipe will be judged as follows:

  • Nutritious Cookie Recipe (<30% Fat) = 40 points
  • Appearance                          = 20 points
  • Flavor Appeal                       = 20 points
  • Texture                                   = 20 points

                                                    Total  100 points
