1. The Flower Department (Flower & Garden Show) is divided into eight (8) divisions and are coded as follows:

PP - Potted Plants

SR - Special Rose

CH-P - Cut Horticulture - Perennials & Miscellaneous

CH-C - Cut Horticulture - Chrysanthemums

CH-D - Cut Horticulture - Dahlias

CH-G -Cut Horticulture - Gladiolus

CH-S - Cut Horticulture - Shrub

CH-T - Cut Horticulture - Tree

Exhibitors submitting a paper entry form must include the Division Code along with the Section Number, Class Number and Class Description.

2. Also, Section Numbers have been changed from previous years and may be found on the Online Premium Guide at www.scstatefair.org. Entry forms received with incorrect Section numbers will not be processed.

+Shows judged during the Fair are open to the public following judging: SC Rose Society Show and Camellia Blooms open at 3:00 pm and the Cut Horticulture Show opens at 3:30 pm.

RELEASE OF EXHIBITS SCHEDULE

Monday, October 20 from 8:30 am - 2:00 pm

with exception of SC Rose Society (9:00 am - 1:00 pm);

also Old Rose Show exhibits are not released.

Enter Gate 11 on Bluff Road and proceed to the Ellison Building. All containers, accessories, potted plants and ribbons must be claimed on this date. The SC State Fair and the Show Committee will not be responsible for items left after this time. Unclaimed exhibits and items will be donated to charity or disposed. Ribbons will not be mailed.

FLOWER DEPARTMENT RULES AND REGULATIONS
1. The South Carolina State Fair General Rules and Regulations shall apply, as well as Section rules stated in this premium guide.
2. Entry registration is required for Potted Plants, Cut Horticulture and Special Rose Show during the Open or Late Entry Registration Periods. Register using the Online Entry System or postal mail completed 2008 Official South Carolina State Fair Flower entry form to SC State Fair, P. O. Box 393, Columbia SC 29202. Entry registrations may also be hand delivered to the Dowling Building Administration Office during regular office hours of 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM. Faxed entries not accepted.
3. ENTRY CONFIRMATION: Exhibitors using the Online Entry System receive a confirmation that their entry(ies) have been received. Persons wishing confirmation of mailed entry registration should include a self-addressed, stamped envelope with entry registration. Do not telephone the Entry Department for this information.
4. Exhibitor is allowed one (1) entry per class. Exhibitors may enter in any or all shows, but no exhibit may be entered more than once. All entries not in accordance with the schedule will be disqualified.
5. Spanish Moss, nor any other highly flammable substance, will not be allowed in any building, at any time, on the fairgrounds.
6. No person will be allowed in the show area during judging except the specified committee.
7. After judging is completed, the Show Committee reserves the right to maintain all exhibits in show condition. If an exhibit deteriorates to where it detracts from the entire exhibit, it will be removed from the exhibition area.
8. Premiums are paid as marked in the judges book and not from entry tags or ribbons that may be attached to the exhibit. These sometimes become misplaced. Premiums in this department will be paid within thirty days after the close of the fair.
9. All containers, accessories, potted plants and ribbons must be claimed Monday, October 20 between the hours of 8:30 AM and 2:00 PM. The SC State Fair and the Show Committee will not be responsible for items left after this time. Unclaimed exhibits and items will be donated to charity.
10. The SC State Fair and Show Management assume no responsibility for damage to or loss of property, but will use utmost care for protection of all exhibits.
11. The right to amend and correct all rules is reserved when, in the judgment of the SC State Fair Management, it is advisable and necessary.
