1.
The South Carolina State Fair General Rules and Regulations shall apply in conjunction with The South Carolina State Fair Flower Show General Rules and Regulations.
2.
Camellia blooms do not have to be registered until the day of the show. Entries will be received on Friday, October 17, 2008 from 8:30 AM - 10:30 AM with judging (closed to public)at 1:00 PM. Enter Gate 11 on Bluff Road to Ellison Bldg. Show opens to the public at 3:30 PM.
3.
Entries will be released on Monday, October 20 from 8:30 AM - 2:00 PM. All containers, accessories, and ribbons must be claimed on this date. The SC State Fair and the Show Committee will not be responsible for items left after this time.
4.
Absolutely no admission to the show during staging and judging.
5.
Entry tags may be requested from the Show Chairman
6.
All entries must have one (1) bloom to a stem and not more than two (2) leaves attached or wired.
7.
The right is reserved to disqualify entries if rules are not followed and to reclassify blooms if incorrectly named or entered.
8.
Names must comply with the latest Camellia Nomenclature book.
9.
All plants from which blooms are exhibited must have been owned by the exhibitor for at least thirty (30) days.
10.
Wiring of blooms is permitted and encouraged. Wired bloom must be on its own variety of wood and foliage. Collars are permitted under blooms.
11.
No distinction will be made between chemically treated and untreated blooms.
12.
Classification as to size will be in accord with the latest edition of "Camellia Nomenclature." Where a bloom is classified to include two (2) sizes, the smaller size shall be accepted as the proper one for awards.
13.
All exhibition blooms become the property of the Mid-Carolina Camellia Society. While the Society will use care in the protection of all property used, it cannot be responsible for loss or damage. Owners should label property for identification.

Camellia Japonica -- Grown in Open -- White Card
Class B
Camellia Japonica -- Grown Protected -- Green Card
Class C

Hybrids

1. Reticulata Parentage -- Includes varieties known as Reticulatas -- Yellow Cards
2. Non-Reticulata Parentage -- Blue Cards
Class D
Miniatures -- White or Green Cards -- Mark top of card "Miniature"
Class E
Seedlings, not commercially sold -- Pink Card -- May be entered without wood of parent plant.
Class F
Novice Award -- Write "Novice" on entry card -- Resticted to exhibitors who have not previously received a trophy.
Class G
Species -- Buff Cards
Class H
Outside blooms grown in Darlington, Greenville, Kershaw, Lee, Lexington, Orangeburg, Richland or Sumter counties -- White Cards -- Place a large "X" at the bottom of each card.
