Entry Registration Procedure

DON'T HAVE A COMPUTER?

Entry forms are available from the Fair Office in July and August during regular office hours, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM. Persons living outside the Midlands area should telephone (803)799-3387 and ask that an entry form be mailed to them. The Fair Office is located in the Dowling Building (just inside the North Gate at 1200 Rosewood Drive and to right of the Rocket).

2008 OPEN ENTRY REGISTRATION PERIOD IS AUGUST 1 - 31

Entry forms received at the Fair Entry Office prior to the Open Entry Registration Period will not be processed until August 1, 2008.

ENTRY REGISTRATION PROCEDURE (Please read carefully)   e

Entry Registration may be made using one of the following methods...

  1. Online Entry System or
  2. Download (print) Official 2008 South Carolina State Fair entry registration form.
  • Entry registration forms may be duplicated.
  • Each department requires its own entry registration form; forms received with multiple department entries listed will not be accepted.
  • Type or print legibly in black or blue ink only.
  • Exhibitor information including signature, telephone number and Social Security number or Farm Federal ID (if entry is made in Farm name) number is required.
  • Entry Fees, if applicable, must be included with the entry registration form. Checks should be made payable to SC State Fair.
  • Mail to SC State Fair, P.O. Box 393, Columbia SC 29202 or hand deliver directly to the Fair Office (Dowling Administration Building) during regular office hours (Mon.-Fri., 7:30AM - 4:00PM).
  • The Fair Office is located just inside the North Gate on Rosewood Drive (to the right, across from the Rocket).

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY...

  1. Incomplete entry registration forms, forms received after the Entry Registration Period, and past year entry forms will be disqualified. Efforts to notify disqualified applicants will be made, provided the contact information is available and legible. However, the SC State Fair will not be held responsible for notification of disqualified entries.
  2. All Group or School "individual" entry registration forms must be submitted together with an adult contact name and telephone number.
  3. Postal mailed entry forms MUST include the Exhibitors' signature following the Liability, Waiver & Release statement, name, postal mailing address, Social Security number, and telephone number. Incomplete entry forms will be returned for completion until one week prior to department closing date; incomplete entry forms arriving within one week of closing date will be disqualified.
  4. CONFIRMATION LETTERS...Online Exhibitors will receive immediate online confirmation once they submit their entries. For mailed Building entries, please include a self-addressed & stamped envelope with the entry registration form in order to receive a Confirmation letter from the Entry Department acknowledging receipt of entry registration form. Livestock exhibitors will receive a confirmation letter in late September following close of registration period. Please do not telephone the Entry Department to verify receipt of entry registration form.
  5. Faxed entry registration forms will not be accepted without expressed permission from the Director of Computer Operations.
  6. Absolutely no faxed Cattle entry forms will be accepted.
  7. Questions regarding Department Rules and Regulations or classifications should be directed to the Superintendent of the department. Superintendent telephone numbers and/or e-mail addresses are listed on each Department Index page.
  8. Questions regarding online entry procedure should be directed to the Director of Computer Operations at 803-799-3387 ext. 23.
  9. All other questions should be directed to the Superintendent of the Department whose contact information is listed on each department's Index page.
PAYMENT OF ENTRY FEES:
Exhibitors registering in departments requiring an Exhibitor Fee and/or Entry Fees must submit these fees with their entry registration form. The Online Entry System will accept a major credit/debit card (Visa or Master Card) for payment of these fees. Exhibitors submitting a paper entry registration form must pay with a check or money order. Exhibitor fees and entry registration fees are non-refundable.

Please note: Youth/Open Horse Department...any additional fees remaining on the day of the show (due to class changes or additions) must be paid with cash or money order...checks will not be accepted following the Late Entry Registration Period. No exceptions!

ENTRY FORM PROBLEMS/TROUBLESHOOTING
Problem
I cannot see the Entry Form when I click on it.
Solution
Download & install the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader. If you already have Adobe Acrobat Reader on your computer, re-install the latest version here.
 
Problem
When I print my form, it has black areas that I could not see on my screen.
Solution
Print to another printer if available, or try another computer.
 
Problem
My computer will not download the Adobe Acrobat Reader.
Solution
Mostly likely this is due to a slow connection to the Internet or you do not have enough space on your computer for the program. Please try from another computer to print your form.

I am still having problems.
Solution
Please try from another computer. If that is not an option, a "computer friend" may be able to assist with your computer settings.
