DAIRY SCHOLARSHIP REQUIREMENTS
The SC Farm Bureau Federation will award a $2,000.00 scholarship based on the following criteria:

1.
Open to youth from South Carolina and states which have reciprocal show agreements with the South Carolina State Fair. Georgia and Florida are the current states with reciprocal show agreements with the South Carolina State Fair.
2.
Applicant must be an exhibitor at the South Carolina State Fair Junior Dairy Show the year of application and compete in senior showmanship.
3.
Applicant must be a high school student in grade 10, 11, or 12, or enrolled in a college four-year program; applicant must not have passed his/her twentieth (20) birthday as of the date of the Junior Show (October 12, 2008). Previous winners of the South Carolina State Fair Scholarship are not eligible.
4.
Applicant must at some future date pursue a four-year degree program.
5.
Applicant must submit an Official 2008 SC Farm Bureau Federation scholarship entry form to Dr. Donnie King by Monday, September 29, 2008.
6.

Scholarship will be awarded to the applicant with a combined top score in the following areas:

a.
100 points -- Resume (submit to Dr. Donnie King, 249 McAdams Hall, Clemson SC 29634) by Monday, September 29, 2008;
b.
 60 points -- Dairy Showmanship Competition;
c.
100 points -- Written Essay (topic to be determined by Junior Dairy Show Committee);
d.
140 points -- Interview by a selected committee.
