Junior
Dairy judging on Sunday, October 12, 2008. Junior entries
will be eligible to compete in the Open Shows on Saturday,
October 11, 2008. |

Open
to South Carolina 4-H and FFA members based on these age
requirements: Exhibitor must be no older than twenty (20)
years of age and no younger than
seven (7) years of age as of October 12, 2008. The South
Carolina State Fair will only honor reciprocal agreements
with Georgia and Florida. |

4-H
and FFA applications for entry should be mailed to S.C.
State Fair, Entry Department, P.O. Box 393, Columbia SC
29202. The Junior Dairy Show Superintendent may
reject any applications that are not properly prepared or
that are received or postmarked after the late entry closing
date. Cattle not registered in the show will not
be allowed on the grounds unless permission is obtained
from the Show Manager prior to the Show. |

A
Junior Dairy exhibitor may exhibit only five (5) animals
that have been transferred to his name. However; a Junior
exhibitor may show any of the animals of which he is the
breeder and the owner. |
| 6. |
Junior
Dairy exhibitors may enter all classes in the Open Show
and are exempt from exhibitor and entry fees, providing
the animal(s) are owned by same and are otherwise eligible
for the various classes. Junior Dairy exhibitors will be
allowed to put together Group classes the same as adult
breeders. Junior Dairy exhibitors must be responsible for
entering Group classes in Open Show. If Junior Dairy
exhibitor enters Group classes as a farm in the Open Show,
a $10.00 entry fee per animal is required. |

The
certificate of registration or signed AFFIDAVIT
on each animal shown in the Junior Dairy Show must be recorded
in one individuals name. The affidavit must be completed
and submitted with Official Fair entry registration form.
No exceptions will be made to this rule. All Brown Swiss,
Guernsey, Holstein and Jersey animals must have been transferred
to Junior Dairy member prior to September 10, 2008. No joint
ownerships will be accepted. Certificates of registration
or signed AFFIDAVIT must be presented to the Superintendent upon arrival at
the Fairgrounds, which proves the exhibitor to be the owner
when the entry was made. No transfer slips or photocopies
will be accepted. |

Junior
Dairy Show animals must meet health requirements of Cattle
Department. |
| 9. |
Junior
Dairy Cattle will be received Tuesday, October 7, 2008 and
must be in assigned space no later than 12:00 Noon
on Thursday, October 9, 2008. |
| 10. |
All
cattle must remain on the grounds until released by the
show manager. Failure to comply cancels any premiums otherwise
won. |
| 11. |
No
exhibitor fee, entry fee or stall rent will be charged for
Junior Dairy entries. Exception: If
Junior Dairy exhibitor enters Group classes as a farm in
the Open Show, a $10.00 entry fee per animal is required. |
| 12. |
Junior
Dairy exhibitors will provide feed and bedding for their
exhibits and keep their animals and area clean and presentable
at all times. Failure to comply with this will result in
cancellation of premiums won. |
| 13. |
Animals
in this department will be on display to the public from
8:30 AM to 9:30 PM daily. Exhibitors will
be under control and direction of the Superintendent, but
the Fair Association will be in no case responsible for
any loss or damage that may occur. Each exhibitor will be
responsible for any loss, injury or damage done by or arising
from any animals exhibited by him. |

Animals
must be shown by 4-H or FFA member without assistance. |
| 15. |
Junior
Dairy Exhibitors must be a 4-H or FFA member. Junior Dairy
exhibitors must show at least one (1) entry in each class
in which they have an animal entered.

If any Junior Dairy exhibitor enters multiple animals
in the Junior Dairy Show, he/she must show at least one
(1) entry in each class in which they have animals entered.
Junior exhibitors may enter multiple animals in any Junior
Dairy Show class (except showmanship classes) but each animal
must be shown by a Junior exhibitor. |

Youth
will be expected to govern themselves by the 4-H Code of
Ethics. |
| 18. |
Show
officials reserve the final and absolute right to interpret
these rules and regulations and to settle and determine
all matters, questions or differences in regard thereto
or connection with no incident to the show.
