Congratulations to the following youth who each received a heifer for the Dairy Heifer Project:

Taylor Branch, York County (Holstein)

Taylor Sandifer, York County (Holstein)

Douglas Chapple, Jr., York County (Jersey)

• The South Carolina State Fair will purchase four (4) heifers at the 2008 Heifer Project Kickoff on April 12, 2008.

• The youth selected to receive these scholarship animals will be chosen from those who are applying to participate in the 4-H Dairy Heifer Project each year.

• Previous winners of Project Win-A-Cow and Project Win-A-Heifer are not eligible to participate in this contest.

• The application for the Dairy Heifer Project must also indicate that the individual wishes to be considered as a candidate for Project Win-A-Heifer.

• Must be a 4-H or FFA member.
• Must have been in the Heifer Project or in the 4-H dairy project for at least two (2) years.
• Must be nominated by county agent or agricultural teacher.
• Must submit 4-H or FFA record book. Record book must accompany application.
• Recipients will agree to show the project heifer at the SC State Fair Junior Dairy Show the following two (2) years.
• Recipients of the scholarship heifers will be members of the 4-H Dairy Heifer Project, will sign a Heifer Project Agreement Form, and also will be required to abide by all Heifer Project guidelines.
